Community Concerts

The Institute host two concerts each year at Barrington High School featuring the repertoire class students and the youth orchestras.  The first is in December and the second is in May.  It is a unique and special opportunity for students and siblings of all ages to perform together on the same stage.  The Institute also regularly performs at “Art in the Barn” each fall, and at special events in the Barrington community such as “Breakfast with Santa” at the Ice House Mall, and as part of the Barrington Cultural Commission concert series at the Barrington White House.

Concert Tours

Beyond group concerts and solo recitals, we offer amazing opportunities for students who are ready for the next step to participate in performance tours.  Few things are as exciting as traveling as an ambassador of music to another part of the country, or even the world.  Past destinations have included Washington D.C., Nashville, Canada, Europe, Israel and Ireland.

Recitals

Solo Recital opportunities are an important part of the private lesson experience.  Students often need a reason to finish and polish a piece of music to perform.  There are three solo recital opportunities through the year in October, February and May.  Students are encouraged to participate in all three as mile markers of their progression on their instrument.
