Summer String Camp
The Institute hosts a three week summer string camp which culminates with a concert at The Barrington Area Library. Students rehearse four days each week on a wide variety of music including pop, jazz, folk, Broadway, rock, movies and classics. The result of this camp is students who grow significantly in their ability to read rhythms and notes as they move through significant amounts of literature while having fun at the same time!

Large Group Rehearsal – 2:00pm-4:00pm Monday – Thursday
String Camp Concert: Friday, June 28, 2:00pm at the Barrington Area Library
Summer Jazz Camp
The Institute hosts a three week Summer Jazz Camp culminating with a concert at The Barrington Area Library. Students rehearse 4 days each week in a combo setting learning beginning to advanced jazz techniques and improvisation.
Registration open to students with a minimum of three years experience on their instrument. All instruments welcome.
This camp is taught by Mr. Joshua Thompson, band director, Lake Zurich High School.
